Saw a parade on TV news last night ,which looked like a Christmas Parade in central London , didn’t see Santa Clause, but a lot of well fed blokes with suntans,. Must have been in OZ for a while , by the looks of them.

Does it always look so bleak and cold there. ? today only 36*C here in Melbourne… second hottest night last night on record.. got down to a cool 27*C. ( electric blanket on 2 only )
Someone said you only hold these parades every 40 years or so … TRUE ?????

No, what you saw was not a parade, it was normal Christmas shopping congestion in London's West End. The sun-tanned types in the bus were, apparently, prison warders just returned from a spell of duty in Van Dieman's land.

Spent one Christmas in Oz. It just wasn't the same going round Myers store in Perth in shorts and T-shirt with "I'm dreaming of a white christmas" on the PA.

Mind you, christmas day on the beach was nice!

BTW, The sailing was pretty good there as well, none of this oilies stuff!

Have a good one !
