I'm retiring this summer after 15 years of distributing Metz VHF antennas in UK and Europe.
When current stocks of antennas, cable, connectors, Optolamp navigation lights and any other kit have sold, saltyjohn.com will cease operations. This will be by mid-summer I anticipate, although the current Coronavirus crisis makes it more difficult to be accurate.
I have put a note to this effect on saltyjohntheblog.com but wanted to thank all of you on this forum for the tremendous loyalty and support you've displayed for all these years. Thank you all!

So, if I am going to need a Metz antenna in the next year or two I need to order it soon?

I hope someone takes up the franchise and exercises it as well as you did, slainte.

I've bought Metz aerials from you for the current and previous boat and never had a problem so I hope the franchise is continued by someone, in the meantime enjoy your retirement .

Enjoy your retirement, I bought an aerial, bits and bobs and one of the cable deck transits, all as a result of favourable comments from this place. The cable deck transit was by far the best purchase, easy to use, easy to install and bone dry cable transit.

All the best in your retirement.

I've also bought a Metz aerial from you and until last year worked fine but on return from Holland discovered that the whip was missing so bought a replacement but not fitted yet due to Corona virus and not able to get to the boat... Enjoy your retirement.

I, too, much appreciate your guidance over the years - and also the download of your e-booklet of advice from your website at Salty John | Marine antenna systems

Your involvement here has been one of the 'gems' found among the overburden.....

Edit: ....and I've just reduced your remaining stock of connectors a bit! :)

Bought a Metz antenna and some cabling from you for delivery to Almerimar before my Atlantic crossing. Still working like a charm. Cheers dude.

Shame you won't be around - always felt you operated with the customers best interest in mind and as a fellow sailor understood quality and longevity, your advice has always been sound.

Have bought two aerials from you one for AIS the other masthead VHF with all the cabling connectors etc and all been working well for some years - top quality kit.

Hope someone else picks up the brand and that you enjoy a full and happy retirement.
