Salt Water or Fresh Water Flush???

We flush with fresh water using the shower head , which is on a hose . Therefore no physical means for germs back tracking into the domestic water system.
The sea water flush remains available.
Have done this on the last and present boat - but appreciate it is not necessarily an option on all boats.

Like many others I suspect, we have the option of both. Simple divert valve installed. We tend to use fresh though nearly all the time as SWMBO is very sensitive to the rotten egg niff of stale sea water.

Have replaced a manual Jabsco with an electric lite flush, both sea water, the smell we used to have on first flushing after a break has now disappeared.

I presume that this is because there is no commonality between the in and out pumps.

VyCox, did some tests that indicated that the sulphury eggs smell was caused by faecal contamination in the manual system, there's a post on it somewhere!
