Does anyone know the difference between the two types of salopettes, those of sailing and those for skiing? The skiing ones are much cheaper.

If I want to keep warm, I wear skiing ones. If I want to keep dry, I wear sailing ones.

If I want to keep warm AND dry, I wear skiing ones with sailing ones over the top.

I wear a cheap ski-ing pair on the scooter & the boat in winter. They cope with showers & being quilted are much warmer than any sailing gear I've ever seen. I don't normally sail in torrential rain if I can avoid it. Anchoring or heaving to are more sensible alternatives depending on where you are.

I thought you lot always "sailed" indoors on your boats? T-shirts & slippers seem to be common Mobo winter wear.

Currently, as an outdoor moboer, quite often rib trips, instructing, de blah de blah.
Keeping warm and dry is important
My old Gill was knackered so last year I was presented a Fladen floatation suit by the kids fer crimbo.
Great
Cost less than a ton I am told
Waterproof and warm
But
Too hot an sweaty from March to the end of Nov
Well, OK whilst belting into an F7 or so in the peeing rain etc!!
So this year the kids have purchased of a ski suit from Liddles or Aldis or somewhere like that
£35 ish for both bits
I am told
So thats it for 2012
£135 for two suits to cover all seasons
Ang on-- the buggers, I,ve been short chaged this yer, the lttle gits:D
