Sailing xenophilia

Re: Danish pastries

And the croissant, that archetypal French pastry, is actually copied off a Turkish pastry - hence the shape!

But if we're on the mixed subject of xenophylia and pastries, the French have to be up there on the pedestal. Bread and pastries to die for. What they can do with a simple mix of flour, fat and water ..... now you've got me drooling into my keyboard!

Being paranoid simply means - having all the facts.

Here on the North Kent Coast we see a lot of Dutch Yachties.
Invariably friendly and chatty. Admitable I am often with a Dutch
speaking friend.
My sailing group and I were on a cycling day trip to France recently
I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly the French were towards us
25 bicycles on narrow lanes in this country seems to bring out the worst in some car drivers but apparently not the French, some stopped and waved us on with a smile. They even unlocked the village hall for us to eat the locally bought lunch.
I am beginning to wonder if the English are turning into the grumpies of Europe.
