I would like to own a pair of trousers with a padded seat and padded knees. Is there such an animal ? Not oilies. Thanks.
I recently ordered online, a pair of casual trousers that fitted my waist but turned out to be drainpipes with an embarrassing crutch crushing style. So beware.

The Musto Evolution ones that I bought about 5 years ago weren’t cheap but they are very comfortable with padded knees and seat. Also plenty of room for your Crown Jewels. I expect that Gill and Zihk also do them. Decathlon might also be worth a look - I bought a fantastic pair of sailing shorts from them for not a lot of money.

These may not be what you are thinking of but they are warm and are slightly padded with extra material at the hip and knee plus mesh lining:

MENS Motorbike Motorcycle jeans UKCA AA APROVED DENIM Made With KEVLAR® Fiber | eBay

Unlike many motorcycle styles they have no additional seams so look like a regular pair of jeans. You would probably not want the extra armour pads that come with them but they might be usable at the knee.

OGGI do other stuff but they are all denim of some sort.

Look at work wear from a hardware store or electrical wholesalers for example, they will be hard wearing but maybe not very fashionable.

I have the Mustos and they’re great. The ones from hardwear stores look the same but the reinforced knees and bum are just reinforced whereas the Musto ones are waterproof in those spots. That said the Musto are either white or beige so I can only assume Musto have never been boating…

Another vote for Musto Evolution. I own and wear various Screwfix/Toolstation work trousers but none of them come close to the Mustos when sailing. Now on the 3rd pair - not cheap but worth it.

Something that might not be obvious about the Mustos as well is how stretchy the fabric is. Really easy to move in.
