That must be an old photo to find a child willing to look after a dinghy. If it is recent, where and how many pence per day did it cost ?

The lady concerned had her 50th birthday a couple of years ago. The photo was taken at Pin Mill, and I think we had just bought the smock at Ward’s. She was, and is, a very dutiful member of the ship’s crew, which is surprising since I always gave her the worst and messiest jobs, a policy that I can highly recommend since it forces them to make an emotional investment in the boat. Our children were much keener on sailing than those from parents who were nice to them.
