A very bad week; it looks like 2 more fatalities last Thursday in a rib accident in Portsmouth Harbour

Yes very sad at Tipner as well -not a place I would visit certainly at that time .

Details are sketchy, but the chat going around the marina was the they had spent some time at The Lightship in Haslar on Thursday afternoon and were heading back to Porchester around 7.30pm and hit something on the way. A little surprising as it would have still been light at this time. The authorities are requesting further information or if there were any witnesses. Very sad

It's hard to imagine what went wrong if they were sticking to the 10 knot speed limit, but I'll wait for the MAIB report rather than speculating further

I was going to post that, but then some rather gruesome alternatives that could happen at low speeds popped into my head. So yeah, I guess we'll have to wait.
