Sail to Power: Decision made, offer accepted!

Ooh that's interesting. Thank you. Anything model-specific we should watch out for either pre-purchase or in operation? (aside from the usual I mean).
nothing overly specific, depends a little on your spec, I'll send a PM with my number if you want to have a quick chat

Name TBC. The present Mrs Scala is engaged on the task so I'll get my instruction in due course... :) I'll have to change my Forum name.
She looks a great purchase, I'm sure you will have happy times ahead

Change of name? just remember to appease Poseidon with a quantity of quality champagne being given to the sea and ofcause a liberal spreading of "likes" to fellow boaters / forum members for good luck. :)

Surely you mean quality English Sparkling Wine after Friday......

How English sparkling wine is becoming the new Champagne

Well folks, in an unexpected turn of events this weekend after months of 'diligent research', my lovely wife advised me that every boat we'd looked at failed to meet the standards she expected and demanded. Well, sez I, "that's the best of what's available at our budget', and so she advised me to spend more. I was pleasantly surprised to find out what an extra 30% did to quality of the boats now available for what I'm calling "the budget". This is now known as "wife maths" ... :)

I also have experienced at first hand what happens when a tired and unhappy wife views a boat that ticks all the boxes she thought she's never expecting to achieve. "Buy this one". Long story short, we did, subject to the usuals.

It's a Sealine SC42. Marmite I think, but for us as a mobile boaty apartment it's a winner.

In achieving the wifely requirements I'm compromised on some other things, especially the outdrives  but otherwise I'm hopeful we've got the right boat for our needs. Not that anyone needs a leisure boat.

You mention Marmite , was this boat called marmite at some point ?

Skipper in our club has one of these, he uses it both offshore and on the non tidal Thames above Teddington.
The Thames should be on your radar at some point, parking outside Hampstead Court or on the clipped grass at Henley or Windsor does have certain cache for the fair sex that a drafty marina with bouncy finger berths lacks.
A cruise up through the centre of the City of London in your own boat,is a trip worth doing at least once in a lifetime.

I did oxford to Cherbourg one holiday in my S37.
Above Henley even the S37 started feeling like the QE2! Lovely holiday though.
And central London. Totally agree. I have a pic on me on the plane under tower bridge. Shame that’s banned now!

Ha didn’t know that.
He posted on here (can’t remember the forum name) about how he got permission to use the marmite logo and artwork which was interesting then went quiet. I only every saw the 35 around but saw that quite a bit.
