Sagittarius Dart 480

Ugly in a bulldog sort of way but a lot of boat for the money and with surface drives
looks well finished inside a couple for sale on yachtworld but not as cheap as the one at essex

regds ash

These Sagitarius where built in Rome area. Verg good hull, and innovative boat at its time. The hardtop 480 which you are seeing is less strange then the 436 open model I sea trialed back in the days.
Moulds where sold to Turkey and the boats should have been started to be produced there.

Back on the boat hunt, what do people think about this economical boat?

Tom

It certainly ain't one of the prettiest boats afloat!

I would look elsewhere with £130k.

H,mm 48ft

450x500

or 34ft

450x500

Both at around £130K and suspect one of them will be bought quite bit cheaper with Toms cash offer and as he has no mooring charges to worry about.
Or maybe add 10,000 pounds and lose 14 ft feet with this baby :)

I've tried to sell unknown boats that weren't pig ugly and had manufacturer warranties and support and that was like pushing water up hill with a sieve!

You can get a more boat than you suggest as well, just go a bit older.

You'll be stuck with the 48, so be damn sure you like it before you buy it

Hmm its all about upkeep I think.

Have managed to sell unknown boats for a good price to the owner, while saw big sums being lost with known brands.

Selling a known brand, but with the current market and desperate owners makes everything loose money.
A Princess V46 in Spain (a very British boat building area territory) went for similar money to what the Dart 480 Sagitarius is asking, she was asking close to 200k.
An Itama 45 from 1990 sold the same a month ago in France....
So which is worth the most....

I am sure if you say Itama to the British boating public they think u r speaking Japanese...

If you staying in boring Britain and its we know only 3 brands boat buyers you should follow WhiteL. If you are moving out of there a Dart can be considered, if you like it.
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder in everything.

News Flash..... Fog in Channel.......Continent cut off from civilisation.

Are you seriously suggesting for one moment that there are people at the far end of an Easyjet flight capable of building a actual boat that floats. :):):)

Hmmm. It's a stock boat so if you got a great deal with Essex it could be good. For resale, you can move it to the Med. On the plus side, there aint no substitute for size and weight in the rough stuff and 50 feet is a nice extra step up. On the looks, I would consider (try in photoshop first) using black awlgrip paint, or wrap, to change the apparent shape of the front windscreen, which is a well know italian trick. Make it look a more normal wrap around screen by filling in all the grp around the centre window in black colour. There is a boat wrap company that does the roof in black on the new s/seeker 28m whom you can find on google.

Nice interior and potentially good value if you are careful.

I'll be in Essex one of these days soonish so will have a look

You see the brand around in the med from time to time, eg shots in a Cap DAntibes anchorage below
