I need it for the baby, keep her warm with the halogen heater (and toaster /forums/images/icons/wink.gif). I think the gennie was the favourite with others at the meet, it is very small and light, gives 1,000w, with max 82decibles. Can also be used to recharge the main battery as it has 12v DC output, amazing piece of kit and only £799. see http://www.hondaenergy.co.uk/

May I suggest that he next time you visit a chandlery you buy a book called "Powerboating - a Guide to Sportsboat Handling" It is written by a guy called Peter White, perhaps the formost power boat trainer in the UK. I did my Level 2 course with him some 10 years ago and will in fact be taking my Power Boat Instructors course and exam with him in July. His book is perhaps the definitive source of what to use, how to use and how to handle a power boat. It lists what you need for all circumsatnces from inland waters to the sea. Published by Ferhurst Books - I think it will be the best £15 you will spend. Also have a look at his web site - http://www.seafever.net I think perhaps you may find this more useful than trying to listen to all the other "experts". When you did your Level 2 (I think I saw on some other posting that you had) did your instructor not take you through the essential kit? Out of interest, where did you do it? Do you have the coastal endorsement? I have no commercial interest in SeaFever, but to this day I use Peter's book for "refreashing" the old boat handling bits. And when I decided to do the instructors course there was only one person with whom I wanted to do it/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Thanks I have Peter's book and have spoken to him during my research. I am doing my CEVNI test with him shortly. I do have Coastal endorsement and have spent a long time researching, I do think that people should look at my list and see if perhaps there is something they have missed.
