RYA logbook - definition of day??!!

My 1998 RYA Cruising Logbook says

"A day on board is a period of 24 consecutive hours living on board the vessel. Periods of less than 24 hours may not be aggregated to increase the total......"

The rules may have changed, of course, since 1998:)

Mine is a little older
It says A day is defined as a period of 24 consecutive hours. Parts of days may not be included in the total but a day is not invalidated by a candidate leaving the yacht for a few hours during a cruise

Can you explain my original point which was how to structure my logbook? One entry for a seasons racing? One entry for a weekend trip away? Ive been out on my boat 40 times this summer so its going to be a bit unwieldy. What do you want to see??

I may be right, I may be wrong, but in order to save space and time, I lump in a load of short trips together. So something like:
"Local trips and races, Cardiff, Watchet, Lydney, etc." Then aggregate the miles, time on board and night hours.

For anything longer than a long weekend, I put in a separate entry.
