I listened to it to around midday but then had something else to do. I've just watched the recording of "an introduction to radar" by Alan Watson, which was good, and "pull of the tides - how tides really work" by Ivan Haigh, which was absolutely fascinating.

I was hugely disappointed in the content, perhaps I am too up to date with things, and wondered if they were trying to address to broad a church.
Unless something really grabs my attention at future events I don't plan to attend again.
The IT failure was inexcusable and hope RYA get a complete refund from the company running the event.

I've never been to a Cruising event organised by RYA but I've been to a few of their regional and national instructor events. Holding it at this time of year and it being an on-line event were big attractions to me.
The 45 minute delay didn't worry me too much. Just a normal part of the fallibility of technology.
I thought the content generally good and there was probably something of appeal for cruisers with a broad range of knowledge and experience.
I can't imagine that Skip Novak high latitude cruises was a relevant subject for many but that didn't stop it from being an interesting and informative presentation.
The Two Ronnies (apologies to Messrs Pridding and Carruthers
) were interesting albeit terribly sad to hear just how much Brexiot has curtailed our freedoms. As I posted earlier, I caught up with the Radar and Tides presentations this morning.
For next year's event, I'm sure RYA would be delighted to hear from members with suggestion for subject matter or offers to present more relevant and up-to-date content.

Not so far as I can see, they are currently only for registered participants - Virtual RYA B&G Cruising Conference reaches new latitudes

Agree that timing and delivery are big pluses. Added to which the break out I chose to listen to on the day, Advanced Nav, also didnt deliver. Although sessions were supposed to have moved to 12.00, that one, for me, was mid session when I joined at 12.01 - tried reporting that without a satisfactory resolution. I've not been back yet to catch up with any of the technical stuff.

To be honest, the RYA could have posted the whole thing online and said watch it at your leisure. Sadly, there were no real question and answer sessions.
