As any one who read the post about my "eventful" trip to Cherburg will know, We had an Engine failure as we were entering the lock at Chichester, First of all the Starboard engine failed and as I was going Port side too in the lock When I put the port engine into reverse (Sorry Byron, Astern/forums/images/icons/smile.gif) The bow went bump! actually it was more of a BOOM, BANG BUMP but anyhoo. It knocked a section of the Rubber in the rubbing strake out but it didn't break it neither did it damage the chrome bit. Now, I managed to squeeze some of the rubber back in, but it has streched and is now too long to fit all of it back in (i.e I have a loop of Rubber hanging out of the rubbing strake)
Is there a magical way of getting it back in with out cutting a bit off, because I think I would make a mess of that!.
Thanks

Ermmmm....will it all come out easily? if so take it all out and cut the end off,or can you buy the rubber still if so buy new and plonk that in Wilks do a range. All i can think of a moment besides cutting and joining, haave done this but only on small stuff which was nearly nnew.Or take all of it out from the loop to an end then cut all imho of coarse no expert.

Why don't you take advantage of it and get new rubber all round? You want to stick a bit of black sylincone behind to stop it moving around and leaving gaps/bunching
