Rotostay furler

A while back I saw, either on the forum or in PBO, a method of fitting a twisted shackle as a rope guide on the Rotostay furler to stop the furling line from coming out of the top of the drum.

Does anyine know what I am talking about and have a picture?

Who is Ken Endean?

He's a regular contributor to PBO, if you do a search under his name on the "boat reports" on the top banner above, it will probably point to his articles and one was about fitting a shackle to a roller furling drum.

Most rotostay already have an arm attached at the bottom of the drum which already fulfils this function. If you dont have one, it is worth talking to XW rigging at Haslar Marina, Gosport.
