Just out of curiosity:

What would stretch more 30 metres of 10mm braid on braid or 30 metres 12mm?

If you mean "for a given load" then the answer is "the 10mm". If you mean "before breaking" then the answer is "both almost certainly the same".

PS if you want less stretch, guessing that might be at the back of your mind, then better to change material rather than diameter. Beware of course that this would mean higher shock loads on fittings etc.

Almost. Just that 30 metres of 10mm would be cheaper. So 10mm would stretch more, for a same load. Why?

Imagine comparing an elastic band with thick bungee cord, or better still, take two very different sizes of bungee and pull on them to see the difference.

Or, assuming the same material and the same method of contsruction then

Each will, say, have an ultimate stretch of 40% at break. But the 12mm will have a higher ultimate load . So for the same load the 10mm will have a load higher, as a proportion of ultimate load, and will thus stretch more for that load. If they are both loaded to 50% of their ultimate load, as JD says, they will stretch the same.

Stretch is a factor of weight rather than diameter - for the same material, so a loose weave/braid will have a lower weight than a tight stiff braid.
