Rope for checkstays

I've been thinking about what to use for my checkstays.At first I considered Dineema wich costs an arm and a leg and is probably over the top for this use.What about 7x19 SS wire?It's probably nearly as good in stretch carachterisics and should much more economical.

7x19 is a traditional wire to use for runners but the question is th get the right size for the application and material. You need to first calculate the rig load, then decide what extension can be tollerated, then select a material that gices less than that extension under those loads. Alternitively if your current stays work ok just make sure the new ones are at least the same. Dyname may not work out that mutch more as you can usually use quite a small dia
