Rope Cutters

Re: Seconds out!

So you admit Bavarias are solid then? Thats a start. We should have a test smash and see who can get they're boats fixed the fastest. Perhaps next year the RTI should have all the old knackers going anti clockwise and the brave new world of Bens and Bavs going clockwise? What do you think?

Re: Seconds out!

Chris, you really do sound confused. Are you on some kind of medication? I usually have a nice scented bath when my mind begins to wander. Herbal tea is another wondrful remedy .. camomile in paricular is very useful.

Re: Rope Cutters - comparison

Hi Guys (and Gals by the sound of it), I'm back now - yes it was sharp Chris (bad haircut day!!), and I APOLOGISE to my friend IOTA. Bloody hell though, it brought the forum into a frenzy for a while didn't it? Unlike IOTA, it actually was not meant to wind anyone up, but more of a moan about the constant sarchasm that modern boat owners receive from owners of so called 'classics' on this forum (I normally ignore it, but like I said, it was a bad day!!). Some can put their case very eloquently indeed (Twister Ken), others tend to say something derogitory, then hide behind the "it was only a wind up" line, when they no doubt really meant it.

Anyway I'm feeling better now, so will go for a quiet lie down with a large glass of something, and be better tempered tomorrow!!.

Cheers all,

Mike N.

Re: Rope Cutters - comparison

I own a modern cruiser commisioned in 2001 not a bavaria, but bavaria owners are so defensive and easy to wind up and I couldn't resist it. and hey ho back you came....apologies...

I admire the old boats and when I retire would like an old gaff cutter but whilst I am working I could not give the boat the time it derserves so I sail a modern plastic boat and enjoy it.
