Roller Coaster Ride

Because the centre of buoyancy, when it was at 90 degrees, was above the centre of gravity
Mmmmm I wonder what the AVS was with that loading, as looked heck of a close to what I would expect it might be. Possibly a close run thing, unless that is like a lifeboat designed to be self righting (assuming doors closed and windows intact)

The guy or the text specifically said on the video that it would self-right from 180 degrees.
That would explain why they were so chilled in such extremes.
Does beg the question as to why a pilot boat would need such extreme capability - would be unable to transfer the pilot on or off a ship long before conditions got anything like that.
Ships regularly have to wait off places like Aberdeen waiting for conditions to moderate for the pilot transfer.

They may have to cross a bar that has a significant capsize risk to get to flatter water to board the pilot.
