Any owners of either these boats here? I've been talking to RBS about a new 1290 Evo. The 1290 Evo is the same hull as the 1250 with an updated interior which looks very nice and an easy sell to Mrs Scala. Slightly extended swim platform. Yanmar 440's on shafts my probable choice. Not so much on the options list and a year to wait for one.
When I think of Rodman.... things that come to mind, not all good, are ... Not glossy. Tough. Workmanlike. Seaworthy. A bit Fisher-y. Basic cockpit. Uncomplicated. Awkward flybridge ladder to a small flybridge. Most of these are good, but I wonder what the reality is.
How does the Yanmar 440 compare to the alternative also offered of the VP D6 440 ? Prices are the same within a £1k.
Be interested to hear of owners' views. Or any random banter really.
