Rode size & splice

Hi, I have SL Spirit 1000 windlass, can anybody advise the correct 3 strand rode diameter & what type of splice would be required to work on the gypsy.

Depends on your chain size. 8mm would be either 12 or 14mm. Jimmy Green has a section on anchor rode sizes.
