I'm not looking to start an anchor or a Rocna thread here (!) but I'd really appreciate hearing if anyone has satisfactorily put a Rocna anchor on a standard Jeanneau bow roller?

But but but... Your not thinking of Slumming it are you????

Ha ha! - Well spotted! No; it's a mates boat. We're staying with the Nauticat which already has a Rocna on a bow roller!

Ermm, why don't you try the Nauticat Rocna on the Jeanneau roller?

You are now going to tell me there is 5 thousand miles between them...?

I have one (20kg) on a standard Bénéteau (39') bow roller. Same manufacturer but can't guarantee if its the same bow roller. Happy to provide a photo next time I'm down if it helps.

Sits nicely in there. Doesn't tip out when you loosen the windlass until you give it a push (unless you're in a real seaway). Something I like is that when weighing the anchor with the windlass, if it happens to come up facing backwards, if you give it half a second once the shank's on the roller, it self-rights on the roller.

My Rocna is from the days before they switched to China.

Funnily enough, my CQR does the same...

...mmm think they should fit ok as the rocna was top of the skippers list of must have gear for our SO47 until I spotted a cut price delta last year but have to admit we haven't actually tried one.

NB: The delta is excellent in our bow roller, better than our old CQR as it no longer needs an initial lift out to launch it off the bow roller, simply release the pressure on the chain and off it trundles towards the bottom, no more balancing precariously on the windlass whilst reaching down to lift up the anchor shank.
