Thanks for quick reply , I have the books and some info but it’s not clear how each part attaches or booms and ropes . I have the mast but it’s missing mast pin, so that’s the easy bit to find or make . The rest is falling into place now that I’ve got main mast on. It’s the use ie doesn’t fold for transport ,does it all fold into place to transport or is it disassembled and wrap as I got it that way . Can’t find a video or anyone who has one to, it’s a rouge lol

I used to own one. Great in flat water, useless in a chop as not enough weight.

Hope OP is not sailing in very tidal waters (wind against tide effect)
No just lochs and lakes not really have the experience to let lose on the rest of the seas and users , lol, can see me asking a huge tanker to reverse to let me go lol

I enjoyed trailing mine up to Windermere, though we did run aground trying to sneak towards Ambleside with ancient spinning wheel dial depth gauge. We also had good time on the Broads and had to practice short tacking in the connecting rivers after outboard bracket snapped. The Severn Estuary and Bristol Channel gave a more vigorous experience in anything above F4 though I did just about beat to windward in F6

You will be so slow relative to tankers that they will regard you as static, and you probably wont want to go where they go, however if you want to get to grips with sea, try Milford Sound or Plymouth Sound, or indeed the Clyde as they have great areas of fairly protected water and you can just gently explore the waves at the more seaward outer reaches

That’s a great Clyde is 30 mins away ishhh.. will get the lessons first at Cumbernauld y/c they seem to have few events on as well so I think it would be good start , I have never sailed before kayaks yes but totally different game I know , so will probably stay with that. May venture if Windermere allows . Still figuring out the sails boom etc being connected , and looking to see how to raise mast other than “heave ho” seems a little ,,,, unsteady lol.
