After two and a half years without a boat I am rectifying the situation with the purchase of a Victoria 30 called Athene. Currently in Lowestoft I may move her down the coast next month.

Plan is still to spend winter in sunnier climes and to return to UK to sail in the "Summer" when I will be a sort of live aboard moving around the coast.

Seem to be a few changes on the forum since I last participated but hope to see old friends and to meet new people next season.

Congratulations! Will look out for you.

The weather may be a bit of a shock after the Canaries :encouragement:
Also the friendliness of the people may be quite a shock after the Gran Canaria.
I have never been so rudely dealt with as I was at Las Palmas Marina on Gran Canaria. The only saving grace was that it was cheap at Euros 10. I had come from Madeira where nothing is too much trouble for the Portuguese, the Harbour Master met me with a tirade as to why I had never learnt Spanish and therefore could only speak English. There had been a mixup on the marina calling up channels that hadn't helped the situation - my book said Chanel 12, the marina in fact worked on Chanel 11.
