I was watching a Youtube vid last night and rested my eyes for a moment. When I opened them again a couple of seconds later, the clocks had spun out of control and gained an hour, and this was playing

Quote of the vid for me "I expected it to take a couple of years and a smallish budget. It took five and a huge budget." Sound familiar?

I can't help thinking that even the small budget he was talking about would have bought my house a few times over. The huge budget must have been enough to clear the national debt of a small country, but what a beautiful result!

Yes, but a billionaire's restoration puts Leo's project into perspective. Before his YT channel took off and allowed him to work full time, he was doing a bit then going back to work in a boatyard to raise funds for the next step. To me, that's even more impressive than the guy who "just" signs the cheques. (That sounds as though I'm dissing Mr van den Bruele, which really isn't my intention. I'm sure he did a lot more than that, not least having the vision for the restoration and the perseverance to see it through.)

Simply magnificent. Very different also to look back at the restoration knowing it’s been completed than watching every step along the way with nothing certain in terms of ever finishing it.
