The main sheet has a car and track. The car is tired, probably 40 years old, stamped with the manufavturers name 'Tye' , which as far as I know does not exist anymore

The main track curves across the deck between port and starboard. Although not by a lot.

Is it easy to bolt a new track down to the curve.

The boat is 26ft. Any recomendations for a make and model for replacement?

Without looking at the photo I thought it was bent in a radius but it seems it's just bent over the bridge deck in which case it will be no problem. The smaller Lewmar system should be fine and you will be able to use the existing holes as the captive bolts slide along the underside of the track and will locate at you existing hole spacing.

There are cheaper systems like IYE

The system would be IYE, not Tye - and IYE are still in business. If the track is in acceptable condition, then there is no need to change it. Just check the dimensions of your track against the current tracks available and I expect they are identical. Then just buy a new a new traveller car. This will be much cheaper and quicker to fix than replacing everything.

That is what I did- just bought a new 6 wheeled traveler and it transformed things.

I found the traveller ok, but the steel plate on them is very flimsy. I replaced the plates that have the sheave and cleat on but they are becoming too bendy. I might try replacing them again with a reinforcing bend down the edges.

Of course, this may put more pressure on other parts of this old fitting, I may end up replacing the car anyway.

Thanks for the advice, really helpful.
