I am thinking of replacing the engine starter switchboard on my 1984 Sadler 26 (Bukh 10 hp). The board contains switch, buzzer, plus the usual warning lamps. How easy, or otherwise, is this? Where is the best place to buy a replacement switchboard? Can I add a rev counter?

The switchboard is connected to the engine wiring via an 8 way connector block. Replacement is simply a matter of plugging the new one in place of the old one.

The rev counters fitted are electronic, and have a sender mounted somewhere on the engine but it is not clear from the manual where.

The only place to easily buy a new one is from a Bukh agent who will also advise how easy or otherwise it is to retro fit the sender. It is very simple to replace parts of the board, so that if there are still serviceable compinents, there may be worthwhile savings to be made.
