Removing self tapping screws

There was a very similar discussion on here recently concerning a stud. Various expensive gadgets were suggested and purchased. I can't remember the outcome though.

That was Mark - MagicalArmchair.. He undertook the most comprehensive exploration into stud removing tools that I've ever read on here. :)

Search his recent threads for the full monty!

As I recently discovered (Some forumites will have seen me sporting the pirate look recently) dentists use the exact same techniques for dealing with recalcitrant screws on old implants as we do in DIY (only on a much smaller scale (thankfully, as I wouldn't fancy a dremmel in my mouth...))

Not only dentists. In orthopaedics we need to remove damaged screws that are either made of stainless steel or titanium. So we have lovely sets of kit to deal with all sizes of screws ranging from 1.3mm diam to 6.6mm diameter

I've managed to do it. The method I used was to cut slots in each of the cross head screws with a dermal and then use a flat headed screwdriver to get most of them out, without damaging the Perspex and removing the threads from the cabin sides. The ones that refused to budge, I just used a small bit and chain drilled around them to remove from the cabin sides. Thanks for all the replies
