A decent coat of Semco locks the golden colour in - not cheap but highly recommended.it goes sticky and horrible and gets even dirtier. oh and slippey when wet - not good. (how do you spell slippey?)
although it doesn't look quite as good, just leaving it alone and washing with sea water kills the mould and mildew, and it then does what its supposed to.
OK I admit it, I break out the two pack cleaner every now and then to get that golden look for a few months
Semco may look good when first applied but when it goes "off" it looks green and gets slippery. Having just used a great deal of elbow grease removing it from the decks I think I will stick to salt water and Patio Magic for general cleaning with an occasional application of Wessex two stage treatment.
Not sure the Semco is responsible for the algae, but perhaps it does act as a feed. My decks were greening, but all gone with a spray over with Patio Magic on top of the Semco.Semco may look good when first applied but when it goes "off" it looks green and gets slippery.
