Does anyone know anything about these boats - were they all built in aluminium or are some of them steel. Do they have a good record as seaworthy vessels?

These boats were built in steel or aluminium. According to the arrogant german designer Reinke who also wrote the book YACHT BAU in which he praises the design as the most logical and best performing metal boats.

You could say he is a little german bruce roberts, but in all fairness, besides his arroganz, his book contains much good technical information generally applicable to boat building which cannot be found in bruce roberts book. (if you into modern stuff, nothing for a classic boat)

Another of his design is the hydra a 16m boat, 10 also refers to the length of the hull. At least 4 Hydra 16 were built in russia, one was offered to me, but I declined.

Thanks for that information. Perhaps the boat is worth a look. It seems well equipped if basic down below and it is a lot of boat for the money. I wonder where to get data such as AVS or STIX?

Thanks again for your reply.

Hi,

I dont know what avs or stix is. I checked, I thought I had drawings of the super 10, but it does not seem like it.

The book I have is pre internet times so I have no e-mail address.

Reinke's book was published by Delius Klasing in Hamburg and you would without doubt find the Reinke via them.

regards ongolo
