I am refurbishing a boat, the stainless steel safety rails have taken some punishment over the years. Can any Forum members recommend a system to polish out the gouges etc, and revive the stainless steel.
File off any sharp burrs.
Wet and dry paper in increasing grades (try 120 followed by 400, used wet)
Solvol autosol or similar.
It's messy, takes time.
Take care to wash the w+d fallout off the boat, it may stain if left.
You may find just the fine w+d then solvol is ok for you, or just the solvol.
I suggest gloves.
