If any of you have Sky, then tomorrow at 8pm on Sky Sports 3 (and 5pm for the early ones) there is Waterworld, a 1-hour programme mainly about windsurfing, and speed boats of various sorts, and very occasionally on Eurosport there is Sailing world, which just happens to be on at 6 pm tomorrow. This is really very good usually if you are interested in racing yachts. One for StellaGirl, or if she hasn't yet got Sky, then maybe for Christmas?
In the same vein, there has been on one of the Discovery channels this evening a prog on maelstroms, which is very interesting, only I had seen it before. They showed the tidal race off Vancover Island (or near there) in Canada, and Tremble Island which is very small and is said to shake with the strength of the tide. In fact it doesn't. It is only about 40 or 50 feet across, and is in such a strong tide that the drop from one side of the island to the other is 2 metres. Or so it said on TV. When I went there the drop was 1 meter, and that was spectacular enough. We were in a very powerful jet boat, so we were fairly immune to the current. But quite unforgetable nevertheless.

Don't forget 'Seamaster Sailing' which is good. Surely if people can afford a boat they can afford Sky!
