I fitted one to my 29' sloop the past week-end. Fitting was quite simple and it worked on the first sail. How it will work in other conditions I do not know yet.
Some pointers.
You may well have to fit a haliard diverter to the top of the mast to increase the ange between the foil and the haliard
If you are using your existing forestay, ensure that the rigging screw will fit inside the drum and that you can shorten it sufficienty to connect to the drum at least 1" above your last fixing point
Ensure that you get enough foils. We were 1 short and spent a hectic Saturday trying to find one.
The furling line supplied is sub-standard. You will need to get something more substantial.
Other than that, seems to work OK. Search the Forum for other threads, there have been a few regarding this system.
had a plastimo, and was very unimpressed by the long term maintenance problems it gave me. lest this seem like anti french prejudice, i would recommend the pro furl i replaced it with - whose system is a robust and impressivce piece of engineering. quite cheap too - if you haggle
