I'm wondering if any of you film your voyages or/and fishing trips?

If you do...what to you intend to do with the footage?

I record my trips to prove to my better half that i did actually catch that fish and did NOT get it given. Once i have filmed the trip i sort of edit it and make montages out of them as "memories" and keep then on a hard drive for personal use to look back on.

Would be nice to hear what you do with your footage if you record it?

We take more photos than film and they become memory keepsakes that I refer to often. Especially as I have young children and paired to the boating seasons they grow up so quickly.

I use a go pro type camera fixed on the canopy for trips out and also on a selfie stick to inspect the outdrive anodes etc after a period of time in the water (if the water is clear enough).
with a back up string in the event of falling off

Im currently using a gopro hero 5 session myself which is desperately in need of a upgrade and the battery life is worse than a drone!

My partners phone takes outstanding pics so no need for a DSLR or anything.

Can anybody suggest a new camera to film on that has good sound quality, long battery life and also good film quality too.

I definitely think this season (covid dependent) to cheer everybody up from brexit and covid we need to start a "pics and film" thread and share our trips and fish with a home made amateur editing haha

Record lots of clips of the family and friends on board as much as the scenery, I always used to stress about the fact I never got around to editing it, but I don't mind now, it is more for memories when I am older and kids have grown up, maybe Ill edit it when I retire, and if not at least my kids when they are grown up will have lots of footage of themselves as kids and us after we are gone.
