Just replaced the last of the original batteries that came with the boat when I bought it in 2011 (I don't know how long before that it had been fitted) as it was warm and showing 10v. . >12 years isn't bad at all I think?

I have had 2 car batteries which lasted 12 years.
One was a Halfords battery, the other badged Renault (original fitting). Both were made by Yuasa.

Not in a boat, but just changed the Red Flash start battery in my Morgan 19.5 years from new. Have similar battery for start in the boat expect 15 years. House batteries life is a function of cycles and how they are maintained, but 8+ years common for good leisure batteries and 12+ for AGMs. Less of course if you liveaboard and work them harder.

So 12 years at top end.

Yes, that is good. I usually get 8 to 10 years from a regular Lead/Acid battery

When I was in the Motorcycle business a trade ad showed a picture of a 21 year old Honda step through in California with its original Yuasa battery. That is outstanding for a tiny 6 volt job.
