Recommendations for finishing teak

OK just to be clear if using Patio magic or Boracol either brushed on or sprayed, it doesn't harm the Gelcoat if its splashed on? I used Starbright cleaner and Brightener on another boat and the cleaner stains the gelcoat horribly.

Hi Eddystone

Thanks for the warning re Starbright Cleaner and Brightner.
I have used these then finished off with 3 coats of Woodskin on teak which I have removed from the boat and this seemed to work well but was about to tackle the pieces which are still on the boat next weekend. Sounds like a close shave if it stain your gel coat so badly

Boracol doesn't stain or harm gelcoat.

Well if you do use the starbrite, try to mask off but it will get under the masking tape - it maybe Ok for a teak deck but if you are doing seats or cockpit slats with gelcoat under or in between, beware!

Small piece of information. If like me you only have cockpit seats, grabrails etc and not deck, you probably want to buy Boracol 5rh in smaller quantities as it only has shelf life of 6-12 months according to ACS the UK manufacturer. Greenshop in Bislay, Gloucs, decant from 25 gallon drums and sell it in 2 litre bottles, as well as 5 litres.
