Recommend me some adhesives

I know you're a sticky lot so looking for ideal adhesives for two jobs that need doing.

1. Rubber seal to lazarette door.



2. Electronics plastic box to solar panel case. This pulled off but not a way to screw back in as reverse of solar panel is behind the cloth. Presently a bit fragile as you can see the panel connecting leads potentially under strain bottom left.

Yes, CT1, Tool station.
Not BT1 which I find to be not good.
You could use superglue on the rubber seal.

You could use superglue on the rubber seal.

That's a good call. Spray activator on hatch and a tiny amount of superglue on rubber. Less is more with superglue.
Contact adhesive seemed a once popular choice but ive seen many a rubber seal hanging off thats already had the contact adhesive treatment.

+1 for the superglue(gel) for the rubber seal. I used it and worked well.

CT1. It sticks really well in normal use, but can also be removed without damaging either surface if needed.

Yes, the 3M 'Command Strips' work very well and hold up quite heavy items securely.

They come off easy without damage too, their best attribute.

Got some CT1 to hand now, also some 3M VHB 4932 sticky pads which were also used to stick the Gobius sensors to a plastic tank.

I’m a big fan of 3M VHB tape. Someone on here was saying recently that some boat manufacturers are using it to stick windows on boats.

Re CT1, I’m convinced that the clear stuff is not as strong/sticky as the coloured stuff.

It’ll be fine - the clear stuff is still strong as a strong thing!
