I have two old AquaMarine deck vents, one above the galley and the other serving the heads. They've both seen better days and the acrylic panel in one has recently cracked (I knelt on it). I'm tempted to replace them with a pair of solar powered vents just to try and keep air movement on tickover between use of the boat. I've always thought they were a bit cheap and cheerful so probably not very durable but I'm guessing there might be something half-decent out there if I knew where to look.

Any pointers or recommendations welcome.

I hope they've improved since I last looked at them abut 10yrs ago ...

Everyone I spoke to said they worked for a while then just gave up ... but those days - it was a break-in job to change the battery ...
They all advised me to avoid.

I have solar lights ring my boat channel and they have replaceable NiMh cells in ... so hopefully Solar powered Vents may be similar ..

Must say - you've rekindled my interest in them again.

Get a separate solar panel to charge your main batteries.
Get a computer fan for a couple of quid.
A diode so the fan doesn't run off the batteries.

This has also been my experience. I second the approach recommended by lw395.

When I had my boat surveyed it had a non working solar powered vent in the heads. The surveyor said in his experience they lasted about 18 months so I replaced it with a non solar version. When I dismantled it, the connections to the tiny solar panel had corroded due to poor waterproofing.
This was 12 years ago so designs may have improved since then. But I would be interested to know what makes are most durable.

I've got a Chinese one that I installed about 5 years ago and is still running fine. Was about £40 on ebay.
