The only marking (besides the price of £51) is the number 4032. Hoping someone can guide me to an appropriate filter cartridge.

OK..... lets sort out the basics is it an oil, fuel or air filter??? Is the number and price you have on the filter body or the element.
is there any makers mark or logo?
Assuming its a liquid filter
what connections does this separate filter have and where do they go?
is it a spin on filter element -( a metal canister with a female thread in the centre)
is it a bolt on filter body with a separate element dropped in the centre?

Apologies to all who read and puzzled. There should have been pics of the filter. I HOPE I am now attaching a file with pics. In any case Freebee I answer as follows
It is a fuel filter
There is no makers mark or logo
The filter is between the fuel tank and the mechanical fuel pump attached to the engine
There should be a separate drop in filter element
See file attached

Thanks, Plum. Mine has all aluminium body and is on a petrol engine. Looks like I need to add a filter. Thanks again for your advice.
