Rebuilding raw water pump - seals

With the raw-water Yanmar 2GM I got so used to impellers going that I found changing the pump was faster than trying to change the impeller, in situ. With the 3YM I've carried on that system.
The, bigger, Johnson pump on the 3YM is considerably more reliable than the Jabsco but, as a result requires seals and bearings replaced nearly as frequently as impellers. My motor does about 350-400hrs a season, pump-change and rebuild every second year - bearings and seals, direct from Johnson are about £3, impellers (from fallible memory £15) and I can get the pump completely rebuilt by an expert on a bench, here in Greece, for €20-30, including parts. No comment on "it's only a spare, can therefore be shit..." attitude, if it's worth carrying it's worth having it in A1 condition. the costs of finding parts in far-off places and the attendant hanging around costs are prohibitive compared to the cost of proper replacement parts.
Spoken with bitter experience as the person who has waited for 3 weeks for a UPS-delivered part from the UK, when I can get a 2-day delivery from Kalmar, Sweden.

Only a Moment???
Not with Volvo design input,
Before you are able to get at the forth bolt fixing the pump you have to block up to take the weight of the engine, remove the Starboard front engine mount and turn the air blue as you curse the Volvo design team.

Dunno which Volvo you have, but on our 2040 our raw water pump has four bolts that are very easy to undo to remove it. Nothing in the way and the pump is easy access from the front. Thinking about it I don't see how the access could be improved.
