According to that we are getting winds that originate in Africa and come via the Caribbean so it should be cracking the flags soon.

ANd further north west - look where they are coming from. You can also see 2 other developing depressions, in time for Friday and next Monday!

Infact it's been a terrible few days,Friday evening wind in excess of 50 knots at Cork so we had to land in Shannon.
Massive thunderstorm on Sat night resulting in loss of power for many villages around here.

seems to update every couple of hours

but no idea how old the data is

Absolutely brilliant, never seen this before. After looking at the UK/Atlantic area I turned the globe round to look at the China Sea, so obvious how the high mountains in the northern Philippines block the wind, and leave a huge wind shadow to the west - used to have to try and get through that big calm patch every year or so.

It certainly is great, combining the overview with one click info at any point.
Must need a fast connection though, maybe too fast for travellers.
As a pictorial representation of vast computing power, I wonder what Frank thinks of it!!
