The whole point of DIY filling is you weigh the cylinder as it is filling, and knowing the tare weight of the cylinder you stop filling when you reach 3.9Kg or sooner.

It is actually very hard to over fill one.
Or fill from empty and know the 80% capacity in litres.
I had a Calor cylinder refilled at the Repsol plant at Á Coruña. I foolishly assumed they'd understand the importance of vapour space but no, it was filled with 100% liquid resulting in scurrying up a hillside to vent the bottle in a remote location.

The gap in the top of the bottle is so the liquid can boil and give off gas when you open up a valve to use some.

You haven't overfilled the bottle ? thus preventing it from gassing off properly
Don’t think so I weigh the receptor as it fills and get bored of waiting so never fill to the max weight

And if you did overfill a smaller container,, you can reverse the process by swapping the process using the receiver as the donor. Its gravity not pressure.
I can see that. Camping Gaz at the UK price of approx £45.00 for an official 907 refill is a serious pisstake.

Cheaper to buy the connector pipe and a large donor cylinder and fill your own.

4 X £45.00 = £180.00!

Calor are 'avin a larf!!!!!!!
When oil fell below $50/ barrel Camping Gaz was the only fuel supplier not to reduce its prices; it increased them. Why anyone accepts having the piś§ taken out of them by such a company is beyond me.
