Re: Bavaria experience

We have a 34 and it has done us proud over the last 4 years. We haven't crossed the Atlantic, but have crossed Biscay on our way round to the Med. We spend aprox. 5 months of the year aboard and it has met our requirements -i.e. good sailing performance and comfortable living for the two of us. Of course we're constantly making mods - this year we fitted an arch for the solar panels and aerials etc. We've sailed a few thousand miles and have never felt that the boat has been the weakest link in our sailing experiences.
Whatever you end up with - enjoy it!

Re: Bavaria experience

I agree Cynythia, we took our Bav 38 across the Atlantic,, it dealt with 50 and 60 knots, no problem. Sadly she was badly damaged in Ivan but we have now bought a new (to us) Bav. There is nothing wrong with the construction of the cruising boats.

Re: Bavaria experience

was that the Ocean 38 with the centre cockpit? I have notions about that version? Good to hear if it copes well with heavy weather.
