My boat has an ST4000 raymarine tiller pilot. It's great until its not, the front end bearings eventually go. Mine exploded in Cork and I'm now hand steering, next stop Dingle, I may have to abort the trip.
For some reason, I have a Raymarine Autohelm 2000 on board, but it's a 4 wire ram, the st4000 was a 2 wire ram, just +&- and the controller reverses the polarity.
Are you aware of any way to configure the 2000 to be 2 wire ?
I can't find a ST4000 ram anywhere
Thanks, Dave

ST4000 ram : here and other places

you could use a pelagic/pcnautic replacement too. Much cheaper.

Found the answer and tested it. The green and yellow wires on the 4 wire ram are for some sort of clutch, you can just connect the red and blue wires and its a direct replacement for the 2 wire ram
