I am using platinum charts on the freeby navplanner software but the tidal curve info keeps showing the curve for USA ports. can anyone explain what I am doing wrong?

I assume you are talking about the planner version of Raytech? You need to set the tidal region to Europe. The default is the USA.
I forget precisely which menu options to do this but I guess it is one of the setup ones.

what version are you running you can download RayTech Navigator 6 from their website - that comes with a detailed chart of the eastern solent to p[lay with and the tides.

well this is what it should look like:

it seems that the 3 regions are only showing because it is in planner mode and a keycode is required for the other regions... I take it you are using the full software linked to a gps?

I've the full version, but even before i entered the code it came up with the regions and the solent chart - does yours show the solent?

The view shown in the screenshot is in planner mode

yes it shows charts for a small area of the solent but no tide info. Raymarine tell me that it needs gps for that data but your experience is different.
