He's missed out just using a plain old crossover cable.

When you tried a different cable, you did get a crossover cable, not a standard cable ?

So tried a new cable, it's a cat 5e cross over cable. Now it still isn't working still no fix upstairs or no chart. What can I do next.

Buy a new pair of plotters

If you've changed the cable and did a factory reset to both plotters and set one to master, it sounds like one of the plotters is faulty.

Long shot, try updating both plotters to the latest software.

So update,I took out the E80 took it down to the 120 put power lead in e80 gps and flash card , and all works . So can I buy a antenna for the e80 ,use my card I have and we are good to go ,if I need to use the helm in the saloon I would just have to move my card.

Ok back down the boat with the bits , does anyone know the connections from the antenna to the raymarine cable , on the NMEA 0183 raymarine cable I have , Brown,white,yellow,green,black. And the antenna cable has red,black,white,and green. Any Help would be appreciated .
