The first thing that came to mind was that the battery in the gps antenna is dead. It is easy and inexpensive to replace.

What gps antenna you have?

You can look you tube, exaples raymarin 125 battery replacement.

That should send GPS over Seatalk then. Do you get depth etc on both plotters ?
Hi Paul thanks for Replies, depth is a separate unit as is auto pilot. My plotter used to as which one do I want to use as master but does not now.

In that case, the connection between the two plotters is Seatalk HS (Ethernet) not Seatalk. I would be worth looking into connecting the autopilot by Seatalk, at some point.

For the current issue, check the Seatalk HS connections and cabling (RJ45 style connectors). You might need a new cable, if so, you can use a standard crossover cable as long as it's in the dry.

So I will try and explain again, when it was working , we used to switch on the e120 plotter and it would ask if it wanted to be the master this was always yes , then we would switch on the e80 and then we would get a fix and every thing worked fine . Now it does not ask about the master and gets a fix on the e120 only . Is it possible to do a factory reset.doing what Paul suggests might be beyond me.

The reason you don't get asked about the "Master" is the same reason that you don't get GPS, the two plotters are not networked (they used to be), hence the need to check the network cable. A factory reset is very unlikely to do any good.

So I have taken my chart disk out of the 120 and put it in the E80 but it will not display , is this telling me the e 80 won’t accept data.
