Ranger 29 Gary Mull design

Mate had a Ranger 30 and liked it a lot. Then he downsized..

Mogy, if you are contemplating US built boats, do have a serious look at a Pearson 30 from the 1970s.
They sail like witches, are solid throughout though a bit ''inner lining and ply attachments'' inside. Dead simple strong masthead rig, good diesel and manners.

And I have raced agin them and met guys who have taken them offshore in a heartbeat.

Really a lot of good boat for very few dollars. Believe me, I have raced hard-as-I-could against them in light airs and windy wavy stuff, they are very good boats !

Owners association and racing association if you google around a bit.

Regards, Tim

Hi Tim,Thanks.Beggars cannot be choosers!I am looking for a cheap seaworthy boat in Spain with a Spanish flag etc,not much choice in my price range !Still came across the Ranger 29 in the internet and its in Vigo,so just round the corner, sound interesting.Buying in the uk and reflagging will cost me about 3000 euros so having a second look in Galicia! cheers

My brother brought one in Gib back in the late 70's. Had sailed over from USA after which the owner died. Good seaworthy boat but had a petrol inboard which was replaced a few years later. brought it back to UK in 81 via the midi canal.
