In the good old days when we had coast radio stations you could often hear, in the wee small hours, Start Point Radio ask Land's End Radio for a radiocheck, and vice versa. The joke was that it was the same voice at both stations because they were being remotely operated from somewhere else by the same operator talking to himself. To give him his due it was usually done around 0100 hours.
