With thanks to the forumites who have helped in the past, can anyone recommend some one to either supply an off the shelf radar arch or fabricate a new one. Thanks again.
Look up a member called Boatone (Tony). He made one out of Stainless Steel and it also had an ingenious folding capability.
I had a canopy made, which I did a conversion on shortly afterwards to convert the ali poles into SS ones that I made myself. Then I changed all the anchor points so that they had hinges (SS) and put hinged triangular supports in. Now my canopy folds up very neatly and it looks like a radar arch. Of course you can't put instruments on it but it does serve the purpose of supporting the canopy / making a forward bimini / making a rear bimini / completely folding and wrapping around the tubes to a tight bundle for an open cockpit.
JB covers had the one for Mananan made - stainless steel and not cheap but works a treat with overall covers, bimini and supports radar etc no problem. Solent area primarily but I know JB travels. PM me for their number if interested.
Cheers Barry. You never know how waterproof it is until its in the water. Still nervous I checked it lunchtime today. The first impressions were good - no listing to port or starboard nor bow to stern. Still had a look at the bowthruster to check though. I must say Rob Crowhurst and the electrician Graham did a first rate job and would recommend them to anybody considering Grp or electrical work at Chatham or the South coast. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
